Eileen's "Special" Cheese Cake

Sara was visiting from Denmark and before she left we were on the search of the perfect traditional NYC cheesecake. We had been shopping in SoHo and asked around for a good place to get cheesecake. Everyone kept recommending this place so we decided to check it out. Not to mention that we were too lazy to really travel very far and this place was right around the corner from Spring.

I would never have noticed this place from the outside because of all the construction around it.. It's a really small space with bar seating at the front window and 2 small side tables. The place is plastered with family pictures on the wall and only Eileen and another server behind the counter. We were so happy to get out of the cold and go in to this warm cute bakery. It was 7pm at night and you could still smell fresh cheesecakes being baked in the back behind the display case. Instead of serving the cheesecake by the slice they make individual tart size cheesecakes. Sara enjoyed a Strawberry cheesecake with 2 chocolate chip cookies and a coffee, perfect for the cold weather. I'm a sucker for anything pumpkin this time of year so I got a pumpkin cheesecake with a bottle of water.

Sara was very satisfied and happy with her choice. My pumpkin cheesecake was good but I do think it could have used a but more pumpkin granted I'm not a huge cheesecake fan but it was hard to dislike anything about the cheesecake here with such warm service. I neglected to take a picture of my cheesecake before devouring it...next time.

I definitely recommend this place and will visit again.
